Waldorf Astoria Cake

Ingredients
- 2½ cup sugar
- 16 tbsp butter
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 cup cake Flour
- 5 tbsp coffee
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Separate eggs. Add yolks to sugar and butter, mixing well.
- Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients alternately with the liquids.
- Fold in well-beaten egg whites last.
- Makes three layers. Place in 3 pans.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until done.
