Virginia Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 2 sticks oleo
- ½ cup Crisco shortening
- 3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 eggs
- 3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond extract
Instructions
- DO NOT PREHEAT OVEN.
- Cream together oleo and Crisco. Add sugar and salt, and blend until sugar is melted.
- Add eggs, one at time, beating well after each addition. The beating is very important, use an electric mixer.
- Add flour, milk and flavoring alternately, beating well after each addition.
- Pour into a well-greased-and-floured tube pan.
- Place in cold oven, setting the temperature at 300 degrees. Bake for 2 hours, keeping the oven door closed while baking.
