Old Fashion Raisin Pie

Equipment

  • Conventional Oven

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups raisins seedless
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 double pie crust

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 425 degrees
  • Combine raisins and water and boil for 5 minutes
  • Blend sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt
  • Remove from heat and stir in vinegar and butter
  • Cool slightly. Turn into pastry lined pie pan.
  • Brush top of pie with a mixture of 1 Tbsp sugar and a little milk
  • Cut wheat design in top of crust
  • Bake 30 minutes
