Date/Fruit Nut Loaf

  • Conventional Oven


  • cups nuts whole
  • 13 oz dates Whole, or substitute raisins, red cherries, etc.
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 Eggs separated
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  • Preheat the oven to 325.
  • Mix together all ingredients except egg whites.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into batter. Batter will be stiff.
  • Press into loaf pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour. Cool before slicing.


NOTE: This is a hard loaf, but it is very good. Use a sharp knife to slice it.
